One such innovation is the introduction of the Smart Board and Study Touch, which serve as modern technological tools to enhance learning.
As stated by Mr. Andi Aji Setianata, M.Pd., these tools not only make the learning process more engaging but also significantly improve time efficiency for teachers in delivering lessons. Additionally, with the latest technology, they facilitate better visualization of learning materials, allowing students to see real-time visual examples rather than just listening to explanations. Study Touch is also more practical as it connects directly to the internet, providing instant access to various educational resources.
For instance, during an 11th-grade Geography specialization class, students engaged in an interactive learning session on Natural Disaster Mitigation. They explored the topic in-depth and applied their knowledge through a game called Stop Disasters a simulation developed by the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR), a UN agency dedicated to reducing disaster risks and building community resilience.
In this game, students are challenged to construct disaster-resilient villages and cities by selecting strategic locations, choosing suitable building materials, setting up early warning systems, planning evacuations, and implementing disaster mitigation education.
Through this experience, students gain a deeper understanding of the importance of disaster awareness and mitigation strategies. This highlights how crucial it is to foster disaster resilience within communities. By understanding risks and working together, we can create a safer and more sustainable future.
