FEMC 2025: Sharpen Your Intelligence with English and Math Challenges!

On February 22, 2025, Cahaya Rancamaya School once again hosted an exciting and challenging educational event for junior and senior high school students through the Fun English and Mathematics Challenge (FEMC) 2025. This event was designed as a platform for students to sharpen their skills in English and Mathematics through interactive and competitive games.

FEMC 2025: Learning the Fun Way

FEMC 2025 was held as a competition that combines learning and entertainment into one exciting experience. Through a variety of challenges presented in the form of games, students had the opportunity to learn in a more active and enjoyable way. The event was participated in by all junior and senior high school students at Cahaya Rancamaya School. Each class formed a team to compete in different games across ten stations, five for English and five for Mathematics. The competition not only tested participants’ academic abilities but also their strategic thinking, teamwork, and creativity in tackling the challenges at each station. With its interactive and fun format, every team was challenged to think quickly, adapt, and communicate effectively in order to achieve victory.

Challenge and Game Mechanism

Unlike typical academic competitions, FEMC was designed as an educational adventure where each team must navigate a series of game-based challenges. The game began with the distribution of maps containing clues about the locations of the stations, presented in the form of puzzles. Participants had to solve the clues to find each station. Upon arriving at a station and correctly answering the clue, each team would shout their team cheer before starting the game challenge.

Each station offered a unique challenge that tested students’ skills in English and Mathematics. The English stations featured games such as Eat Bulaga, a word game that tested quick thinking; Riddle, solving puzzles in English; Word Search, finding hidden words in a grid of letters; Chinese Whisper, a game of passing messages in a chain; and Spelling Bee, a competition to spell words correctly. Meanwhile, the Mathematics stations included Math Mystery, solving number puzzles; Uno Stacko, stacking blocks with math challenges; Math Crossword, solving a crossword puzzle with math operations; Math Shape Puzzle, arranging shapes according to geometry rules; and Hanoi Tower, building a tower following logical patterns. Teams that successfully completed a challenge at one station would receive the next clue and continue to the following station until they completed the entire series of games.

Fun and Benefits for Participants

The event took place in a lively atmosphere filled with enthusiasm and healthy competition. Students were not only challenged to think quickly and accurately but also required to work together as a team to complete each game with the right strategy. In addition to sharpening academic abilities, FEMC also instilled important values such as effective communication, teamwork, and resilience in facing challenges
Through FEMC 2025, students are encouraged to view English and Mathematics as enjoyable and applicable subjects in everyday life. Furthermore, the event equipped them with critical thinking and problem-solving skills that will be highly valuable in the future.
With the conclusion of FEMC 2025, it is hoped that all participants will continue to develop the skills they have learned and apply them in various aspects of life. See you at next year’s FEMC with even more exciting and challenging adventures! (Zakwan)
