Before concluding the entire series of activities in the 2023/2024 academic year with the distribution of PAS result report cards and class promotions, students at Cahaya Rancamaya School once again organized a fun agenda with classmates and even peers. The exciting agenda, known at Cahaya Rancamaya School as OSIS CAMP, is specifically designed for students in grades 7, 8, 10, and 11 for this time. Meanwhile, seniors in grade 12 are focusing on college preparations, and seniors in grade 9 are gearing up for their next educational journey.
OSIS Camp was held in the last week of May, from May 27 to 31, 2024. The destinations for this year’s OSIS Camp at Cahaya Rancamaya School were not very diverse, with only three main destinations: Lombok for the 11th grade, Bandung for 7A, and the rest visiting the tourist city of Yogyakarta for 7B, 7C, 8th grade, and 10th grade.
There were many exciting activities and new experiences from this activity, such as vacationing and visiting new places with friends, refreshing after dealing with school subjects and exams, and enjoying moments together that will never happen again.
In addition, there are educational aspects that can be gained from this activity, such as learning about the culture and history of a region directly and even applying the lessons learned in class. For instance, the 11th-grade students visited and studied the culture of the Sasak village in Lombok, learning and practicing traditional Lombok weaving.
Additionally, they also learned directly about nature and the environment by participating in activities such as planting mangrove trees and releasing baby sea turtles into the wild. Moreover, there were many other positive activities. (Harmain).
