Geographically, Indonesia is in the Pacific Ring of Fire, where three world tectonic plates meet, such as the Indo-Austalian Plate, the Eurasian Plate, and the Pacific Plate. This makes Indonesia a country that is prone to disasters such as earthquakes, volcanic eruptions, and tsunamis.
Therefore, basic education related to standard handling of disasters needs to be promoted and disseminated early on to the community with the aim that they can be responsive and alert when a disaster occurs.
In collaboration with BNPB (National Disaster Management Agency) Bogor City, Cahaya Rancamaya Islamic Boarding School held Disaster Management outreach to all students as well as all teachers and school staff with the aim of ensuring that all the community or school residents understand the things or appropriate and what initial actions to take, carried out if at any time a disaster occurs.
Some of the material provided in the socialization includes how to provide first aid when an accident occurs, the correct way to evacuate and save yourself when a disaster occurs, and the panic that often occurs when a disaster occurs. Apart from delivering material, the BNPB team also prepared a disaster simulation scheme (Earthquake and Fire) without knowing the students.
Alhamdulillah, all of the students and teachers took part in this activity with great enthusiasm and enthusiasm. Even though we have been taught about handling when a disaster occurs, CR friends, don’t forget to be alert in all situations and also of course pray more so that we are all always protected from danger and disaster and always under the protection of Allah SWT.(Harmain)
